HNTB’s Connecticut office named one of the state’s Best Places to Work for 2024

Hartford Business Journal’s ranking recognizes HNTB’s recruitment and retention of a highly engaged workforce

HARTFORD, Conn. (March 8, 2024) – HNTB’s Connecticut office was named one of the Hartford Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work in Connecticut for 2024.” The annual award program assessed confidential employee survey responses across key areas, including personal engagement, culture, leadership, job satisfaction and retention. It also evaluated HNTB’s corporate organizational policies, practices, benefits and demographics.

“Our success and growth are a reflection of the people-first approach we take at HNTB,” said Jacob Argiro, PE, HNTB’s Connecticut office leader and vice president. “We focus not only on successfully delivering complex, transformative projects to our clients, but also on supporting our employees’ professional growth. We challenge our employee owners to take on stretch assignments and discover what drives them – and that passion leads to the innovative solutions our clients know we’ll deliver.”

HNTB opened its Connecticut office in 1986. In the past year, the office added more than 25 employees, growing by more than 50%. HNTB’s clients include the City of New Haven and Connecticut Department of Transportation.

HNTB has worked on, or is currently involved with, some of the state’s most transformational infrastructure projects. These include the Gold Star Memorial Bridge, Route 8/I-84 Interchange Mixmaster Rehabilitation Project, Norwalk River Railroad (WALK) Bridge Replacement Project, Downtown Crossing New Haven Initiative and engineering services for the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Rail Corridor.

The Hartford Business Journal recognized its 2024 Best Places to Work winners at an awards ceremony on March 7 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT.
