Matt Dixon joins HNTB as senior project manager in Los Angeles

Veteran engineering leader will focus on the Western Region transit and rail market

LOS ANGELES (Dec. 16, 2022) – Matt Dixon, PE, has joined HNTB as senior project manager in Los Angeles. In this role, Dixon will lead transit and rail projects and participate on leadership teams throughout the firm’s Western Region. He will focus on design coordination, track design, operations and operations simulation.

“Matt brings a high level of experience and expertise to HNTB and will play an integral role in advancing our rail transit programs,” said Francesco Cantatore, HNTB project director and associate vice president. “His more than two decades of experience working on major projects around the country bring additional expertise to our clients for current and future rail projects.”

During his career, Dixon has served in a variety of management and technical roles. He was the engineer of record for final design and on-site representative during construction on Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Southwest Yard and the track lead for the bridging documents for the East San Fernando Valley Transit Corridor.

Most recently, he was the site/civil lead for the 30% design for a high-speed rail project’s yard and shops and supported many other LA Metro efforts such as systems integration testing on the Regional Connector.

Dixon graduated from the Northeastern University in Boston with his bachelor’s and master’s in civil engineering. He is a professional engineer in California.
