Mike Trimble joins HNTB as project director in Austin

Seasoned infrastructure professional with extensive leadership and capital program management experience

AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 18, 2023) – Mike Trimble has joined HNTB as a project director in HNTB’s Austin office. Trimble brings more than 20 years of state and local government, public policy and capital program management experience, along with a passion for creating a more equitable, sustainable mobility future.

In his new role, Trimble will be providing program management and advisory services for clients throughout south central Texas and beyond.

Prior to joining HNTB, Trimble spent more than 15 years in various leadership roles with the City of Austin. He most recently served as the acting deputy director for the Transportation and Public Works Department where he led the City’s strategic projects, smart mobility, transportation planning and transportation development services teams.

During his time with the City of Austin, Trimble led and coordinated several large transportation bond programs including the $720 million 2016 Mobility Bond program, which is the largest ever approved by voters to date.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and government from Texas A&M University, is a certified Project Portfolio Management Professional through the Project Management Institute and is accredited by Congress for the New Urbanism.
