HNTB’s Los Angeles offices recognized as top 10 ‘Best Places to Work’

Top 10 ranking recognizes firm based on employee feedback on workplace environment, culture and more

LOS ANGELES (Aug. 30, 2024) – HNTB’s Los Angeles offices have been named one of the city’s Best Places to Work by the Los Angeles Business Journal. The firm ranked among the top 10 in the large company category, which was announced earlier this month during an event at the Biltmore Hotel.

“This is a tremendous honor for HNTB and our Los Angeles offices,” said Yoga Chandran, PhD, PE, GE, HNTB Los Angeles office leader and senior vice president. “As an employee-owned firm, we take pride in fostering a collaborative environment where each individual has the opportunity for personal and professional growth.”

The 18th annual rankings conducted by the publication recognize companies with the highest levels of employee satisfaction and engagement as measured from input to a confidential survey assessing employee attitudes toward the firm’s leadership, culture, training and work environment. An evaluation of HNTB’s corporate practices, policies, philosophy and demographics also are included in the rankings.

“Our people are the heart and soul of our firm and we’re grateful for their affirmation that HNTB is a great place to work,” said Michelle Dippel, HNTB Western U.S. president. “By nurturing our team members, we cultivate the strongest teams capable of tackling our clients’ most challenging infrastructure projects with expertise and dedication.”

Jeff Watson, PE, PMP, HNTB West Division president said, “This achievement is a direct result of our team’s unwavering dedication and collaborative spirit that makes our workplace a supportive, inclusive and innovative environment for everyone. Together we will continue to strive for excellence and keep pushing the boundaries to achieve great things.”

In California, HNTB has been serving clients for more than a century. The firm’s first design project was the Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena in 1914.

HNTB delivers architectural, engineering and construction services for transportation markets including aviation, bridges, highways, tolling, transit, rail and roadways. As an industry leader in the transportation sector, HNTB has been involved in some of the city’s most high-profile, complex infrastructure programs that continue to reshape the region.
