HNTB’s Construction Engineering Inspection work is recognized by Florida Transportation Builders’ Association’s Best in Construction Awards

Firm’s construction engineering and inspection group honored for design-build and interchange work

LAKE MARY, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2024) – HNTB was recognized at the Florida Transportation Builders’ Association Best in Construction awards ceremony with two awards in the categories of design-build and interstate for its construction engineering inspection work on the I-95 corridors from south of Glades Road to south of Linton Boulevard in Palm Beach County. Each year, FTBA and the Florida Department of Transportation honor companies across FDOT’s eight district offices for their involvement in the delivery of the most innovative, complex and impactful transportation projects across Florida.

“We are incredibly proud of the dedication and collaboration demonstrated by our team and partners,” said Matthew Price, HNTB’s Florida CEI office leader and vice president. “This project is a testament to what can be achieved through effective teamwork and innovative solutions.”

Several factors contributed to the success of the design-build project. HNTB’s CEI team worked collaboratively with the contractor, Prince Contracting, and FDOT District Four to transform the I-95 interchange at Glades Road into a diverging diamond interchange. Through teamwork and advanced coordination, the project team successfully implemented the DDI through a full weekend closure. The team was able to maintain project progress despite a materials shortage during the COVID-19 pandemic and worked to resolve any issues promptly.

The project was completed in February 2024 on time and on budget.
