Since it opened in 1958, Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium has played host to ASU football, NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, annual college bowl games, the Super Bowl and a visit from Pope John Paul II. However, the venerable stadium had not seen a significant renovation for 25 years until officials launched a $307 million program in 2014 to enhance the game day experience, aid recruiting and create a year-round community asset for Sun Devil Nation. In partnership with multistudio, HNTB’s national sports design team transformed the iconic stadium into an energized, connected, and world-class sports and entertainment venue.
