HNTB served as design architect and AOR for design, documentation and construction administration for this new commuter rail station, which brings Metrolink service close to the future Burbank Airport Replacement Air Terminal. HNTB provided architectural, engineering and environmental services from the project’s earliest planning and programming phases to construction and commissioning.

HNTB is now leading architectural design of the expansion of the station that will deliver the 10-mile Brighton-to-Roxford Double-Track project within a corridor owned by LA Metro. With double-tracking, the station will receive a new underground passage to link the new and existing passenger platforms. This $10M project-within-a-project will improve operational reliability and on-time train performance, add capacity, set the stage for future expanded commuter rail operations by creating this continuous double track and serve as a critical link in the future California High-Speed Rail (CAHSR) system. The project is located along a crucial rail corridor in the San Fernando Valley, which SCRRA uses to dispatch all Metrolink, Amtrak and Union Pacific Railroad (UP) trains.
