The Brent Spence Bridge Corridor is Ohio and Kentucky’s largest and most significant infrastructure initiative. Spanning the Ohio River, the project enhances mobility, safety and economic growth along a critical segment of the national transportation network. It includes reconstruction of approximately 5 miles of I-71/I-75 in Kentucky and 2.7 miles in Ohio, plus construction of a new companion bridge and rehabilitation of the to the existing span. These improvements will reduce congestion, improve air quality and increase freight efficiency.
For more than a decade, HNTB has provided financial and technical support to advance this transformative project. During the procurement, HNTB served as technical and financial advisor, delivering services such as funding strategies, value engineering, environmental services and grant support for Bridge Investment Program (BIP) and Mega Program.
Under the progressive design-build delivery, HNTB provides program management, environmental planning, traffic analysis, public involvement, project controls and compliance support. The scope includes contract management, design review, proposal development and oversight of major interchange improvements across 7.8 miles of approach roadways in Ohio and Kentucky.
