Van Short returns to HNTB as senior project manager

Veteran transportation technical leader brings nearly four decades of experience designing and delivering major infrastructure projects

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 30, 2024)Van Short, PE, has rejoined HNTB Corporation as a senior project manager, bringing over 39 years of transportation engineering and project management experience. His expertise encompasses a wide variety of highway design and transportation programs, including feasibility studies, design and reconstruction, design-build and utility coordination.

Throughout his extensive career, Short has worked on numerous complex transportation projects for the Texas Department of Transportation and the Arkansas Department of Transportation. His considerable project management experience includes leading roadway schematics, off-system bridges, urban highway widening, multi-level interchanges, multi-lane freeways and interstate rest areas.

Short earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Texas Tech University and is a licensed professional engineer in Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas; he also holds TxDOT and Florida Department of Transportation pre-certifications.
