Ryan Luck joins HNTB as construction services group director

Veteran Wisconsin DOT construction chief brings over 32 years of experience


MILWAUKEE (Oct. 18, 2022) – Ryan Luck, PE, has joined HNTB Corporation as construction services group director and associate vice president, bringing more than 32 years of experience in managing and successfully delivering complex transportation projects. Luck, who is based in the Milwaukee office, will focus on HNTB’s growing staff and portfolio of construction services projects in Wisconsin.

“Ryan brings extensive experience in leading and growing a team of construction engineering professionals that will be a tremendous asset to our team and our clients,” said Ashley Booth, Wisconsin office leader and vice president. “He will build upon the great work that has been already established and continue to grow our practice to new heights.”

Prior to joining HNTB, Luck was with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the last 32 years, most recently in the role of SE Freeways construction chief. Throughout his impressive career, he has helped to deliver $4.5 billion worth of mega construction projects including the Marquette Interchange, I-94 N-S (Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties), the Zoo Interchange and the iconic, Hoan Bridge (I-794).

Luck has extensive experience developing and implementing strategic project and program controls teams for successful program delivery. During his time at WisDOT, he led up to 70 consultant engineers for the oversight of the SE Freeways Construction Program.

Luck holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
