Jorge Martinez joins HNTB as project manager in El Paso

Seasoned professional with extensive experience in transportation planning, traffic analysis and infrastructure design

EL PASO, Texas (August 8, 2023) – Jorge Martinez, PE, PTOE, CNU-A, has joined HNTB Corporation as a senior project manager in HNTB’s El Paso office. With his extensive experience and expertise in managing complex projects, Martinez brings a wealth of knowledge to further strengthen HNTB’s capabilities in delivering innovative transportation solutions in the region.

Martinez boasts an impressive track record of successfully overseeing a wide range of infrastructure projects throughout his career. With a focus on transportation engineering and project management, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.

His expertise extends to a wide range of areas, including developing and optimizing traffic signal systems, performing traffic studies, designing intelligent transportation systems solutions, contributing to campus master plans and comprehensive transportation planning initiatives.

Prior to joining HNTB, Martinez served as a principal team director for another consulting firm. He is a current board member of the American Council of Engineering Companies El Paso Chapter’s Transportation Committee, board member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers’ Young Engineering Committee and Education Committee and the Institute of Transportation Engineers LoneStar Section student liaison for The University of Texas at El Paso ITE Student Chapter.

Martinez has also served as a civil engineering senior design evaluator at The University of Texas at El Paso for the past eight years which allows him to support students in their final year of study. He holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso. Martinez is a registered professional engineer in Texas.
