Janet Campbell-Lorenc joins HNTB as Rail Planning Practice Consultant

Accomplished rail development expert brings more than 20 years of expertise developing intercity passenger rail projects

PHILADELPHIA (Jan. 7, 2025) Janet Campbell-Lorenc, AICP, has joined HNTB Corporation, a leading infrastructure solutions firm, as a planning practice consultant. Campbell-Lorenc brings with her more than 20 years of extensive expertise in intercity passenger rail development, including planning, service development, engineering, environmental clearance, funding readiness, compliance and oversight.

In her role, Campbell-Lorenc will collaborate closely with the firm’s rail clients and project teams to manage major rail development programs from planning through construction and operations. She also will provide strategic direction and analysis in the firm’s business development efforts.

Prior to joining HNTB, Campbell-Lorenc oversaw passenger rail corridor identification and development projects nationwide for another consulting firm. She also held senior roles at Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT, where she led various rail planning, service development and infrastructure projects.

Campbell-Lorenc holds a Master of City Planning and a Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University. She is a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and actively participates in several professional organizations, including the American Planning Association, APTA’s High Speed & Intercity Passenger Rail Committee and the Women’s Transportation Seminar.
