Veteran transportation leader to support ongoing growth of design-build services
SEATTLE (April 14, 2025) – Irene Wang, PE, SE, PMP, has joined HNTB as a senior project manager based in the Bellevue, Washington, office. With more than 30 years of experience in bridge design, structural analysis, construction support and project management on major highway and light rail projects, Wang supports HNTB’s expanding portfolio of complex infrastructure projects across the region.
In her new role, Wang leads strategic management of local transportation projects while contributing to the continued growth of the firm’s alternative delivery services. She also supports the firm’s marketing group in pursuing transportation opportunities both locally and nationally. Wang’s design-build project experience spans nearly two decades. Her management and collaboration have contributed to the successful delivery of multiple award-winning projects, fostering strong relationships with the owners and general contractors.

Wang is an active member of the Women Transportation Seminar, currently serving on the WTS Puget Sound Advisory Board and WTS International Chapter Operations Task Force Committee. Previously, she served on the Portland Chapter Board, and was a founding member of the WTS Nevada Chapter, reflecting her long-time commitment to advancing women in transportation.
Wang received a master’s degree in structural engineering from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in bridge engineering from Tongji University. She is a certified professional engineer and structural engineer in the states of Washington, California and Nevada.
