Collaborating for stronger communities and smarter growth
DENVER (April 3, 2025) – The Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Leadership Exchange recently took place in Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing together more than 130 business and civic leaders. Among the participants was Del Walker, Denver office leader and vice president at HNTB. The exchange provided an opportunity for leaders to collaborate, learn and inspire efforts that drive meaningful community impact.
LEX brings together leaders to learn from successful U.S. and international cities, studying bold initiatives that enhance city vibrancy, attract businesses and improve infrastructure. Guided by Colorado’s Civic DNA—Inclusivity, Collaboration, Shared Vision, Leadership and Responsibility—LEX fosters connections among diverse leaders driving progress across the state. The most recent exchange in Charlotte focused on economic mobility, manufacturing, innovation, corporate and educational partnerships and smart growth strategies.
“The Leadership Exchange is about bringing together visionaries, decision-makers and community leaders to uncover transformative ideas,” said executive vice president for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and president of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, Kristen Blessman. “The insights gained in Charlotte have helped shape Denver’s strategies for long-term economic success.”
Walker highlighted the critical role that transportation and infrastructure play in shaping vibrant, sustainable cities, emphasizing their impact on economic growth, mobility and community development. Cities with well-integrated transportation systems are better positioned to attract businesses, support workforce mobility and create vibrant, livable communities. The exchange provided an opportunity for Denver’s leaders to examine how transit-oriented development and infrastructure investments can drive sustainable urban growth.
