Infrastructure industry leader brings 22 years of experience in strategic pursuits, project delivery and business growth
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (April 14, 2025) – Alasdair Dawson has joined HNTB Corporation as national pursuit champion and vice president for the firm’s national sales office. He brings extensive experience in the rail and infrastructure industry, with expertise spanning both public and private sector projects. In this new role, he works with HNTB teams across the country to secure complex infrastructure projects, helping to drive growth and deliver valuable solutions for the firm’s clients.

Dawson has more than 22 years of public and private sector experience in transportation and energy infrastructure and business leadership. He is currently supporting HNTB pursuit teams in Northern California, Minneapolis and the Inland Empire in Southern California. Previously, Dawson played a key role in major programs, particularly for California High-Speed Rail, where he served on the program management team and led multi-disciplinary teams, in the early stages of the program, developing the first design-build and associated contracts.

Dawson earned an MSc in infrastructure investment and finance from University College London. He also holds a BSc (Hons) in geography from the University of Plymouth. His professional affiliations include the Institution of Royal Engineers and Institute of Railway Operators.
