New venue will honor the traditions of Chiefs Kingdom while creating an elevated experience for generations of fans
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 22, 2026) — The Kansas City Chiefs’ new stadium will be delivered through a partnership between MANICA and HNTB, with MANICA leading design and HNTB serving as architect of record. CAA ICON is serving as owner’s representative on the stadium project.
Set to open in 2031, the state-of-the-art venue will serve as a world-class sports and entertainment destination that honors the traditions of Chiefs Kingdom while creating a new home for the franchise and generations of fans. The fully enclosed stadium will feature a translucent ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) roof and will have capacity for more than 70,000 spectators.

The venue is being designed to host NFL games, major concerts, international sporting events and year-round programming. The stadium will build on the franchise’s renowned tailgating culture and home-field atmosphere while creating intuitive, comfortable experiences from arrival to seat, offering a broad range of hospitality options and supporting major events at the highest levels of sports and entertainment.

The MANICA and HNTB team brings extensive experience delivering some of the nation’s most complex sports and entertainment venues, combining innovative design, technical excellence and integrated project delivery. The firms previously collaborated on Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, which has hosted NFL games, major concerts, international soccer and global sporting events.

HNTB’s current and recent sports work includes Allegiant Stadium, the new Las Vegas A’s ballpark, the University of Kansas Gateway District, Victory Heights at the University of Pittsburgh and New Ryan Field at Northwestern University.
