Downtown office enhances access to transportation agencies and supports delivery of major infrastructure programs across the region
SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 29, 2026) – HNTB, a leading infrastructure solutions firm, has added a new office in downtown San Francisco at 505 Montgomery Street, Suite 620. The location expands HNTB’s Northern California presence, which also includes offices in Oakland, San Jose and Sacramento.
“Our new San Francisco location reflects HNTB’s longstanding commitment to Northern California,” said Dominic Spaethling, Northern California office leader and vice president. “By expanding our presence in the heart of the city, we’re creating even greater opportunities to collaborate with our San Francisco-based clients while providing our employees with another great, accessible location to collaborate with their peers.”
The office is located near many of the transportation agencies HNTB serves, including the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Bay Area Toll Authority, Bay Area Infrastructure Financing Authority, Caltrain and San Francisco International Airport. The location also brings HNTB closer to key regional stakeholders and civic organizations, including the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR) and the Bay Area Council, that help shape the region’s transportation, infrastructure and economic development priorities.
For decades, HNTB has helped deliver some of San Francisco’s most significant transportation investments, including the Central Subway, which extended Muni rail service to Chinatown, Union Square and SoMa; the Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit project, San Francisco’s first bus rapid transit corridor; Presidio Parkway, which replaced Doyle Drive and transformed the southern gateway to the Golden Gate Bridge; the SFMTA transit-tunnel inspection and engineering program, supporting the long-term reliability of the Twin Peaks, Sunset, Muni Metro and Central Subway tunnels; the San Francisco International Airport Air Traffic Control Tower, where HNTB served as master architect for the iconic replacement tower; and the Treasure Island transportation program, where HNTB is helping advance innovative tolling, mobility management and emerging transportation solutions.
