George Riccardo joins HNTB as national practice consultant in Advisory practice

USDOT and FRA veteran joins HNTB as policy and funding advisor

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 20, 2023) – George Riccardo joins HNTB’s Advisory practice as national practice consultant and vice president, where he will advise on how to deliver the country’s biggest and most complex infrastructure projects. He has extensive public and private experience and will leverage his understanding of the United States Department of Transportation’s policies and programs. Based in Washington, D.C., Riccardo brings a unique perspective to the intersection of project delivery and federal policy.

Riccardo brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in various transportation roles in Washington, D.C., including for the USDOT, the U.S. House of Representatives and a law firm. During his time at USDOT, he served as a senior policy advisor to Secretary Elaine Chao covering the Federal Highway Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Aviation Administration and the Build America Bureau. He was heavily involved in the surface transportation reauthorization efforts. Prior to that, Riccardo was a senior congressional affairs officer for the Office of the Secretary and director of government affairs for the Federal Railroad Administration. While on Capitol Hill, he was a staffer on the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Riccardo earned a Bachelor of Science in business management from Penn State University.
