Diana Gomez joins HNTB as senior project director and vice president

 Veteran transportation executive brings more than 25 years of highway agency expertise

 LOS ANGELES – (Feb. 4, 2025) – Diana Gomez, PE, PMP, has joined HNTB Corporation as a senior project director, vice president, and California highway market sector leader. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Gomez will lead strategic highway initiatives across California.

Before joining HNTB, Gomez served as District 6 Director for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), where she managed the State Highway System across five counties, overseeing the administration and operation of all district programs. With a career span of more than 25 years, she has held key roles, including senior transportation electrical engineer and chief of traffic management and systems operations at Caltrans. She also played a pivotal role at the California High-Speed Rail Authority as Central Valley regional director, advancing the state’s first high-speed electric passenger rail system.

“As an engineering trailblazer, Diana served as National President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers where her leadership earned her recognition among Hispanic Business magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential Hispanics’ in 2005,” added Chandran.

Gomez earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from California State University, Fresno. She is a registered Electrical Engineer and a Certified Project Manager.
