Transportation leader and design-build professional returns to HNTB to support growth across the region
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Aug. 26, 2026) – HNTB has named Joe Fazio, PE, DBIA, business development director and vice president for the firm’s New Jersey offices. Fazio will work with clients and partners across the state to build long-term relationships, identify opportunities and align pursuits with the firm’s long-term priorities.

Fazio returns to HNTB after serving as a senior vice president with another consulting firm. He brings more than 27 years of industry experience spanning program management, business operations, client relationships and alternative project delivery. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade with HNTB, including three years as the Mid-Atlantic Division’s delivery officer overseeing operations for clients throughout the region.

Fazio joins HNTB as the firm continues to support major transportation and infrastructure programs in New Jersey for clients including NJ TRANSIT, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and other public agencies advancing investments in mobility, resiliency and economic growth.
Fazio has worked on complex design-build and public-private partnership projects, bringing experience across transit, rail, highway and bridge markets. His work has focused on aligning technical teams, client objectives and delivery strategies to help advance major transportation initiatives.
Fazio holds bachelor’s degrees in civil/structural engineering and architectural engineering from Drexel University and a master’s degree in civil/structural engineering from Villanova University. He is a licensed professional engineer and a Design-Build Institute of America-certified professional.
