Industry expert brings over two decades of experience helping oversee critical infrastructure projects across Louisiana
BATON ROUGE, La. (Sept. 28, 2020) – John Monzon, PE, has joined HNTB Corporation as civil works department manager, based in the firm’s Baton Rouge office. In this role, he oversees water resources and civil works projects across HNTB’s Gulf Coast district.
Monzon brings 26 years of experience to this role, with extensive expertise and relationships in public works, flood control, coastal restoration, transportation engineering, disaster planning and emergency response and recovery. Prior to joining HNTB, he served as a regional director for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West, directing oversight and management of 80 miles of levee and flood protection facilities and structures in the greater New Orleans area. Monzon also held leadership positions with the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority as well as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

Monzon is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of New Orleans.
