Joe Gonzalez joins HNTB as Orange County group director

Brings more than three decades of experience with clients, including OCTA, Port of Long Beach and Riverside County

SANTA ANA, Calif. (May 6, 2020) – Joe Gonzalez, PE, joined HNTB Corporation as Orange County group director and associate vice president. He is based in HNTB’s Santa Ana office and also serves as operations manager for the office.

Gonzalez’s career in transportation spans more than three decades. His experience includes leading multidiscipline teams on some of Southern California’s most significant infrastructure projects during the project development and final design process, primarily for major highways, urban freeways, and roadways.

“Joe is well-known for his accomplishments and contributions within the region’s transportation industry,” said Tom Ellis, PE, Southern California office leader and senior vice president. “He is a tremendous resource for our Orange County clients as they move forward with their most complex and important infrastructure projects.”

Prior to joining HNTB, Gonzalez served as manager of projects for another consulting firm. He has experience working with many of the region’s largest public agencies, including Caltrans, Orange County Transportation Authority, California High Speed Rail Authority, Port of Long Beach and Transportation Corridor Agencies.

Gonzalez earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from California State Polytechnic University – Pomona. He is registered as a professional engineer and active in American Society of Civil Engineers – Orange County and WTS – Orange County.
