Infrastructure solutions firm HNTB celebrates connection to Los Angeles with new advertising campaign

Timed around opening of new Sixth Street Viaduct, “We Are Here” theme to appear on TV and outdoor billboards

LOS ANGELES – (July 1, 2022) – Aligning with the opening of the largest bridge project in the history of Los Angeles, HNTB Corporation is launching a visibility campaign to celebrate the firm’s presence in the LA community.

As engineer-of-record and architect-of-record on the Sixth Street Viaduct replacement —connecting the historic Boyle Heights neighborhood to the downtown Arts District — HNTB will launch billboards and television commercials that speak to the firm’s commitment to Los Angeles and impact on connecting people and places through its work. The advertising campaign will run through the summer.

“Just as the Sixth Street Viaduct connects communities, HNTB is celebrating its presence in Los Angeles with eye-catching ‘We Are Here’ advertising, expanding on the community-first theme the firm has used nationally since 2019,” said Wayne Feuerborn, HNTB West Division president.  “I’m excited we are launching our first advertising campaign in Los Angeles, where we continue to work on iconic, essential and equitable infrastructure projects that will improve mobility for everyone’s benefit.”

HNTB has roots in Southern California dating back to 1914 with the landmark design of Pasadena’s historic Arroyo Seco Bridge. The firm has grown in California to include seven offices and more than 350 employees.

While working on many of the region’s most visible infrastructure projects, HNTB also is committed to serving the communities where employees live and work. The successful SPARK-LA partnership with the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works and Los Angeles Unified School District just completed its sixth year, sharing STEM curriculum with the Girls Academic Leadership Academy: Dr. Michelle King School for STEM, and adding Schurr High School, a four-year public school in the Montebello Unified School District, to the program for the first time this year.

In addition to multiple community service projects and sponsorships, HNTB in Los Angeles has received many honors in recent years, including Employer of the Year by Women’s Transportation Seminar, American Council of Engineering Companies Firm of the Year, and Best Places to Work in Los Angeles by Los Angeles Business Journal.

Creative for the “We Are Here” advertising campaign was designed by the firm’s inhouse team. RW2 Productions produced the television commercials. Media buys were managed by the firm’s Southern California public relations partner, Agnes Huff Communications Group, and Nick Simard, CEO of Outdoor Media Buyers.
