Award recognizes the firm’s outstanding support of the chamber
LOS ANGELES (Sept. 21, 2021) – HNTB was named a 2020-2021 Distinguished Member of the Year by the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce. This award is given to companies that make significant contributions to the chamber. HNTB’s ongoing involvement included event sponsorship within the Development, Design, and Construction committee, supporting the Small Business Certification program, and other chamber programs and events.
“Working with the amazing staff at the chamber has been one of the most rewarding external activities of my career,” said James Long, PE, HNTB project manager who serves as corporate representative for the chamber as a board member, committee leader and mentor. “I am thankful to the chamber for fostering such a welcoming, vibrant business environment and providing HNTB ample opportunities to network and interface with our business partners in the community.”
“HNTB has been a phenomenal partner with the chamber and steps up their involvement whenever it is needed,” said Christina Davis, LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce president. “We cannot thank James and the team at HNTB enough for all they do to support us and look forward to our ongoing working relationship with them.”
Among its many major projects in Southern California, HNTB currently is serving as lead architectural designer for the Automated People Mover stations and maintenance facility at Los Angeles International Airport; delivering final design and construction support for the Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement project for the City of Los Angeles; and is principal engineer and architect for the Crenshaw LAX Transit Corridor project. Each of these landmark projects have resulted in small and emerging business partnerships with HNTB and project owners.
