Becky Rude joins HNTB as planning group director

Accomplished project manager and environmental planner with broad experience in planning and compliance for transportation, environmental and land use projects

MINNEAPOLIS (June 20, 2024) Becky Rude joins HNTB Corporation, a leading infrastructure solutions firm, as planning group director, bringing more than 18 years of extensive expertise in project management, environmental planning, climate and transportation resilience, natural resources and restoration design, National Environmental Policy Act and associated compliance and stakeholder engagement.

“We are thrilled to welcome Becky to our team,” said Sara Hage, AICP, ASLA, HNTB’s Minnesota office leader and vice president. “Her expertise in successfully advancing complex projects through the environmental review process will be invaluable to our clients as we continue to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that enhance infrastructure systems and quality of life within the communities we serve.”

Rude’s impressive career includes managing the environmental process for infrastructure projects in the Midwest and Western U.S. through all stages of project delivery—from project inception and programming to post-construction compliance monitoring. Most recently, she led corridor planning and the risk and resilience assessment for the 29-mile Northeast Entrance Road corridor in Yellowstone National Park.

Prior to joining HNTB, Rude served as senior project manager for another consulting firm. Rude holds a master’s degree in environmental law from Vermont Law School and a bachelor’s degree in biology and English literature from Concordia College Moorhead.
