White is a well-known expert in the rail and transit industry. He has designed, built and maintained catenary, third rail, cable, conduit and related systems as well as designed and patented devices related to overhead contact systems. At HNTB, he has applied his expertise in Massachusetts as well as rail and transit clients across the country and Canada. He has been honored by the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society with the 2017 Outstanding Service Award in recognition of his service as the 10-year chair and founder of the VTS Overhead Contact Systems Subcommittee. He is credited for galvanizing traction-power-related professionals in North America.
