Now as never before, Americans are debating the future of our nation’s infrastructure.

As part of that debate, the nation needs to determine a vision that will guide federal surface transportation policy and funding well into the future. It comes at a time of economic turmoil, political uncertainty and increasing awareness that the gas tax is no longer sufficient to pay for the roads, bridges and rails the country needs.
