South Louisiana Submerged Roads Program

The South Louisiana Submerged Roads Program is an extensive repair program to restore roads damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Recommended by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the program is funded 100 percent by the Emergency Relief Program of the Federal Highway Administration. For Phase A, more than 50 street repair projects in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Tammany parishes. The LA DOTD is coordinating with local agencies and utilities to ensure other street and utility improvements and repairs are completed prior to Submerged Roads Program repairs. This coordination effort will streamline the process and lessen the inconvenience to neighborhoods, local businesses and motorists.
