HNTB participated with the refinancing and restructuring of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, a merging of the Turnpike Authority and the New Jersey Highway Authority, which now oversees both the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.

HNTB has served as general engineering consultant on all turnpike widening and expansion programs since the facility was originally constructed. As manager of a recent $2.8 billion widening program, HNTB provided location studies and was responsible for supervising the preliminary and final design prepared by 17 section engineers, as well as providing all construction management services.
