The new Type II Hangar and Aircraft Parking Apron located at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station (NAS) is a result of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) action of the Naval Air Station in Brunswick, Massachusetts. The new hangar will be one of the largest in the U.S., with 137,000 SF of bay space and 140,000 SF of office space. This project was designed to LEED Silver Standards. Solar shading, light shelves and heat-resistant designs will protect the building against environmental strains.
