HNTB reconstructed and completed tollway improvements for a two-mile section of State Route 836, the major East-West connector in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The project included two administration buildings, two toll plazas and two gantries for electronic toll collection, as well as the total reconstruction of the existing expressway facility. These improvements are the initial steps towards implementing open road tolling on the entire Miami-Dade Expressway Authority system. The design-build project was completed on an expedited two-year timeline.
