The eight-mile rail alignment includes nine new passenger stations and four tunnels (totaling more than 6,000 feet in length), a completely redesigned Forest Park-DeBaliviere station at the junction of the system and two parking facilities adjacent to stations. This multi-faceted construction underaking involved numerous bridges, related roadway, site and utility work, track work, train control systems, communications and traction power. Twenty-two additional light rail vehicles serve the new system.
