HNTB selected as prime design engineer by WisDOT

Expansion project will decrease congestion and provide better local and through traffic movement

Milwaukee, Wis. (Oct. 28, 2009) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation selected HNTB as the prime design engineer for a major interchange and highway expansion project in Green Bay, Wis. HNTB will provide final design for up to 20 plans, specifications and estimates packages for the new interchange at Wisconsin Highway 29 and U.S. Highway 41, as well as expansion of U.S. 41.

This contract completes the last section of expansion of U.S. 41 from Oshkosh to Green Bay, and the new interchange completes the connection of U.S. 41 and WIS 29. “These projects, once completed, will help eliminate congestion on the west side of Green Bay and provide better local and through traffic movement,” said Mark Becherer, project manager in the Milwaukee office.

HNTB has completed work on several other major interchange projects in Wisconsin, including the Marquette Interchange and the Mitchell Interchange. Completion for the interchange and highway expansion project is scheduled for spring 2014.
