HNTB Corporation names vice president, national director of program controls

Blum brings more than 18 years of experience in project management


KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 17, 2010) – Erik Blum has joined HNTB Corporation as vice president and national director of program controls. Blum will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive program controls within the firm. Blum brings more than 18 years of experience in program, project and administrative management. He will be located in the firm’s Santa Ana, Calif. office.

Before joining HNTB, Blum served as the director of facilities program management for the Los Angeles Unified School District where he implemented best-practice program controls procedures, and led the project oversight, funds acquisition, program controls and financial operations functions of the $20 billion capital improvement program. Prior to that, Blum served as a project controls manager at Fluor Corporation.
 
Blum is a member of the Construction Management Association of America, serves as a Board Member of Californians for School Facilities and is a registered Professional Engineer in California.
