HNTB Architecture names federal services core practice leader

Joe Calvarese brings more than 35 years of experience to federal market


Los Angeles (July 14, 2010) – Joe Calvarese, AIA, NCARB has joined HNTB Architecture as a federal studio leader in the Los Angeles district. Calvarese brings to the role more than 35 years of global architecture experience with specialization in the federal market.  According to Robert Newsom, FAIA, vice president and Los Angeles district leader, “HNTB Architecture is honored to have Joe join the firm. His presence will help the firm meet its growth objectives for current and future work.”

 

Before joining HNTB, Calvarese served as regional director of federal operations at Leo A. Daly. In this role, he was responsible for creating and implementing the firm’s strategic federal marketing objectives in the western region. Prior to that Calvarese served as western federal director for HDR Architecture Inc responsible for the region’s strategic federal goals, and working with the US Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC and other government agencies. Calvarese has led many major projects such as the renovation of a portion of the Pentagon and the one million square foot Navy Federal Credit Union Headquarters.

 

Calvarese is a member of American Institute of Architects and registered architects in Maryland, District of Columbia, New York and Florida.
