HNTB Architecture Honored for Building Programming Software

HNTB Architecture’s software Pre-D Notes®, received an honorable mention in Trade Show Executive’s Innovation Awards for 2010. TSE’s Innovation Awards recognize companies and organizations that have created products, procedures and other new ideas that have yielded new value for show managers, exhibitors, attendees and the exhibition industry as a whole.

Pre-D Notes®, “cloud computing” software used for preparing building programs, enables experts from different disciplines and in far-flung locations to add their input to the overall pre-design programming of convention centers or any other building type. The software was first developed for and used on several HNTB convention center projects in Niagara Falls, Ontario; Las Cruces, N.M.; and Albany, N.Y. The software facilitates instant changes and real-time updates of the calculations for net square footage, documentation of detailed and interdisciplinary space requirements, as well as instantaneous review and progress reports. HNTB compares use of the Pre-D Notes® software for building programming to a team of chefs developing a recipe, prior to the design process where the gourmet meal is prepared.  In this case, too many cooks don’t spoil the broth.
