USA Today -- Rob Vining, HNTB flood management practice leader, was quoted in USA Today in regards to the state of many levees in the U.S. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has found 300 levees to be unaccredited, some of which protect a lot of real estate. This problem can cause property owners to spend a lot of money on flood insurance. Lawmakers are pushing for communities in these flood zones to have more time to improve conditions and to get coverage.
