U.S. Highway 82 Mississippi River Bridge

Greenville, Miss.

As the prime consultant for the U.S. Highway 82 Mississippi River Bridge project, HNTB prepared construction documents for a new crossing, approximately 3,000 feet downstream from the existing 1940 bridge, supplying two 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, two 12-foot exterior emergency lanes and two 8-foot median emergency lanes, increasing the roadway width from 24 feet on the 1940 bridge to 88 feet on the new bridge. The bridge is one of the longest spans of any type on the Mississippi River.
