Patrick J. Kennon, manager of aviation economics in the Arlington office, is widely recognized as an expert in aviation forecasting, benefit/cost analysis, mathematical modeling, and statistical analysis. He is responsible for conducting transportation forecasts, system planning, feasibility analyses, financial analyses, economic impact analyses and economic forecasts.
His aviation forecasting experience includes many large commercial airports, including Atlanta, Minneapolis-St. Paul, San Francisco, Anchorage, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Washington National and Dulles, Tampa, Miami, Charlotte and Seattle-Tacoma. His system planning experience includes the Regional System Plan Study for Eastern Virginia and the Minnesota State Aviation System Plan. His financial planning experience includes serving as project manager for the feasibility study for Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana and developing traffic, revenue and operating revenue forecasts to support a revenue bond issue for Kansas City International Airport.
Kennon has been a speaker at the FAA’s national forecast conference, has worked with the FAA to help refine their national and local airport forecasts and has authored forecasting manuals on behalf of the Transportation Research Board. Kennon, who has been with HNTB for more than 20 years, received a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts. He is a member of the American Economics Association.
