I currently have responsibility as the Office Leader for the Overland Park and Denver offices. As the Office Leader I am responsible for ensuring we provide quality service to our clients on all projects in our office. I have responsibility for all office activities including oversight of all phases of engineering and planning services, as well as marketing, staff development, quality assurance and cost and schedule control. I also stay actively involved with projects as a Project Manager and Principal-in-Charge on several design projects and studies.

 

Over the course of my career at HNTB, I have had the opportunity to take on several roles in the office to enhance my knowledge of the business side of HNTB. These assignments as operations manager and quality assurance manager on the office management team have given me the chance to participate in office management activities and receive mentoring from senior office leadership. During my career, I have also served as the Bridge Department Manager and Transportation Group Director in the Overland Park office.

HNTB has helped me be successful by giving me the opportunity to build strong relationships with clients and peers. HNTB has a strong network of professionals within multiple disciplines that are necessary to make a project successful. At various stages of a project I am able to tap into support in multiple offices and groups to meet the needs of our clients. Throughout the life of a transportation project that support may come from the transportation and bridge groups in the Overland Park or Denver offices and from other groups, such as the planning group and public involvement group in the Kansas City office, the electrical/lighting group in Federal Services and the technology group in corporate business services.

Early in my career with HNTB, I was told that I needed to communicate my achievement goals so that HNTB can provide me with the right opportunities to make them happen. This commitment to success has made all the difference, and the dedication of the staff in our offices has provided me with excellent support and mentoring.

 

I have also benefited from the cross training that resulted from working in a variety of transportation market sectors. The multidisciplinary experience that I gained has given me a strong background that I use to add value to my clients.
