Fred Kimotsuki

I get to work on all aspects of design, not just documentation or some other piece of the bigger picture. At HNTB, I've been encouraged to become a complete architect.

What kinds of projects do you work on?
I work with our sports architecture group to design arenas, stadiums and ballparks across the country. I specialize in designing seating bowls and concourses, performing sightline studies and service level planning.

How does HNTB help you be successful?
HNTB is home to a wealth of professional knowledge. I work closely with people in upper management, people who have a lot of experience and who are great teachers. I have an excellent mentor, not to mention the resources I need to design successful projects. I also have the opportunity to play an active role in the entire life span of my projects; I get to see what I've designed through construction and on to completion. That's a very rewarding experience.

How has HNTB helped you advance in your career?
HNTB has given me the opportunity to work on large, complex projects with talented, experienced people. I get to work on all aspects of design, not just documentation or some other piece of the bigger picture. At HNTB, I've been encouraged to become a complete architect. I have real autonomy and responsibility, and I like being accountable for the work I do.
