Charles Dodge, PE, vice president and project director in the Arlington office, is recognized as the premier project manager and technical expert for complex multi-level interchanges and urban freeway/toll ways in Virginia, Texas, and throughout the country.
Examples of Dodge's high-level of innovation and originality include unique congestion solutions developed for the I-495 Capital Beltway around Washington D.C., a $2B High-Occupancy Toll Lane and Freeway reconstruction with three multi-level directional interchanges in its 14 mile project length, a four-level fully directional interchange for IH 410/US 281 Interchange in San Antonio, Texas, and a unique geometric and structural solution to significantly reduce the cost of the structural steel and right-of-way for the IH 35/US 290 Interchange in Austin, Texas.
Dodge has served as chairman of the TxDOT Transportation Liaison Committee for the Texas Council of Engineering Companies, San Antonio Chapter. He has served as Vice President of Technical Affairs for the American Society of Civil Engineers, Texas Section, and over the years has held various offices with ASCE. He is a member of many other professional societies, including the National Society of Professional Engineers, Intelligent Transportation Society - Texas, and the American Public Works Association.
His projects have received several technical/design awards, including the 2010 and 2009 Road & Bridges Magazine Top 10 Roads Projects, Texas Council of Engineering Companies Engineering Excellence Awards, a 2006 Gold Medal Award and a 2004 Silver Medal Award.
Dodge received his bachelor's of science degree in civil engineering from the Michigan Technological University in 1983.
