HNTB’s Kara Lentz named to national Construction Manager Certification Institute Board of Governors

Three-year term includes helping guide standards of excellence for construction management professionals

DALLAS (July 27, 2017) – Kara Lentz, PE, CCM, LEED AP, senior program manager and vice president of HNTB Corporation, has been named to the Construction Manager Certification Institute Board of Governors. Her three-year term will begin at the Construction Management Association of America’s National Conference & Trade Show on October 7, 2017, in Washington, D.C.

As a subset of CMAA, CMCI manages the Construction Manager Certification Program. The Board of Governors oversees policies and procedures that influence the qualifications for CM certification, and manages certification decisions for individuals enrolled in the program.

“As a construction manager, there is no greater honor than being equipped to help guide the standard of excellence for our profession,” Lentz said. “The Board of Governors is committed to empowering the next generation of construction managers with the most comprehensive education and preparation available in the industry and I am excited to help the organization meet its goals.”

Lentz is based in HNTB’s Dallas office, and has 17 years of experience in program, project and construction management. She has significant experience in the aviation infrastructure market sector, having managed major aviation programs that include gate concourses, airport train stations and airside apron improvements.

HNTB draws upon a national workforce of construction management professionals to dedicate the right resources to local projects at the right time to meet tight schedules and client expectations for cost and quality. The firm has experience on a variety of construction management projects across the U.S., including providing construction management services for the 2.6-mile extension of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Blue Line, known as SOC-3; serving as construction manager for the Mercer Corridor Improvements in Seattle; and providing construction engineering and inspection for the I-595 Express Corridor Improvements in South Florida.
