Alexandra Siu joins HNTB’s traffic management team in Boston

Siu’s project management expertise supports traffic engineering, planning and design project

BOSTON (May 3, 2018) – Alexandra Siu, PE, PTOE, joined HNTB Corporation as a project manager based in the firm’s Boston office. Siu leads the traffic engineering group’s work to analyze, design, plan and construct significant highway projects.
 
“Alex’s innovative solutions for highway infrastructure improvement programs are helping enhance roadway safety and reduce congestion,” said Gary Bua, PE, HNTB Massachusetts office leader and vice president.
 
Siu’s background includes more than 10 years of complex highway project experience for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and municipalities throughout the Commonwealth.  With expertise in traffic operations analysis, microsimulation, traffic signal design, and complete streets, her project experience includes Burns Bridge in Worcester, Quincy Center Transportation Improvements, and the Connect Historic Boston Bike Trail.
 
Siu holds a Master of Science in civil engineering from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. A professional engineer and professional traffic operations engineer in Massachusetts, Siu is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the New England Intelligent Transportation Society.

She is a former recipient of the Bertram Berger Young Engineer of the Year award from the Boston Society of Civil Engineers.
